The hand-painted Dodo bird is 11 x 9 cm in size.

The Dodo bird is also known as the Mauritian Dronte. It is an extinct species of flightless bird. Its appearance is known from surviving drawings and descriptions dating back to the 15th century. Unfortunately, after its discovery, it was exterminated by sailors and thus became a symbol that reminds us of the consequences of human behavior.

Whether the white Dodo bird existed is still a mystery. White Dronte was painted by Savery in 1611, perhaps later. His painting shows a white doda and is probably based on a stuffed specimen from the time of Rudolf II. Some believe that the white color of the drone was caused by albinism, others that the white drone could represent an immature individual; or it could also be the creativity of the artist.

Glassor is a Czech family brand following the tradition of glassmaking dating back to the 13th century. All Glassor ornaments are made of Czech glass, hand-painted and made by using the traditional glass blowing technique.
